MIKE’S STORY
I didn’t set out to build software.
My name is Mike. I’m from the United States, and poker has been part of my life for more than 30 years.
I moved to Costa Rica in 2000. In 2009, while visiting Medellín, I played a local tournament and joined a cash game afterward. That is where I met Nora. She was a Dealer.
In 2014 I moved to Medellín and started a small apartment game. It grew into Expat Poker — a home-game community that evolved into a private club. Over the years, people from 95 countries came through our doors.
“One of the first people I hired was Nora. She became the person who kept the operation together.”
She dealt. Then she became cashier. Then she handled Dealers, food, drinks, expenses, rent, cash, rake, tips, and the final number I needed to know at the end of the night.
She helped organize more than a game. She helped organize my life in poker.
